The Bank of Canada's website shows that on May 8 the bank launched an online public consultation on the Bank of Canada Digital Currency (CBDC), which will run until June 19, 2023.
The consultation platform will allow participants to comment on the features of the Canadian digital Canadian dollar. The Bank of Canada also noted that the country does not currently require a digital Canadian dollar. The consultation was launched to prepare for the possible need for CBDC in the future.
